Mali and I flew to Los Angeles to visit her sister Ketmani and to attend my brother Steven's engagement party.
Here are the sisters Kouanchao working on breakfast.

Ketmani's grapefruit tree in her backyard.

...and the ruby red fruit it bares. It's like an Ocean Spray commercial outside her house.

Cuttin' up some watermelon.

Mali trying on glasses while we wait for her sister to pick up her prescription.

Hot!

In front of Ketmani's house in Hemet, CA.

Mali's freshly-painted tootsies en route to Los Angeles.

This was the first time either of them had been to Pinkberry and now they're both believers.

LA breakfast with Mom and Dad at Dusty's in Silver Lake.

Cool sign.

Steven and Sam in front of their quaint little cottage apartment.

How many ladies does it take to clean a casserole dish?

Ellen directs the whole crew in helping her assemble her excellent macaroni & cheese.

Mali and Mom having some real bonding time.

It turns out that the parking space in front of Steven and Sam's apartment is like... THE place to take your photo
in front of the Hollywood sign. Convenient, but it makes tourist-dodging kind of annoying.

We visited the Griffith Park Observatory and saw the new show at the Planetarium which was written and directed
by Sam's father, Chris Shelton. Very well done and very excellently narrated. I wish I remembered the name of
the lady who narrated the show!

Mali in front of the observatory.

Mali standing beneath her favorite planet... SATURN! She loves Saturn!

I kinda like Jupiter.

Steven, Matt Goldman, and I at the engagement party at Sam's sister Marley's house.

Steven with his writing partner Kelvin.

What a pair!

Mali and Ellen are totally friends now.

There were so many cameras pointing, but at least Steven and Dad are looking at mine while Mom, Sam, and her
parents Chris and Carol are looking elsewhere. Still though, it's the man and woman of the hour with their parents!

The Shelton sisters: Erin, Koren, Sam, and Marley with Erin's daughters Farrah and Rosie.

The wall of memories. The two larger pieces in the middle are paintings of Steven and Sam which their friend
Jason commissioned an artist to make while he was in India last year. Outstanding.

Mom and Dad making a toast to the prized couple!

Sam and Steven welcoming their beloved friends and family.

Cheers!

Professionalish photographer Matthew Haber.

USN! USN! USN! USN!

Siblings-in-law.

Stop... Davis time.

I totally predicted that Mali and Koren would be super friends by the end of the night and I was so right.

Jason, Brady, Sam, and Steven chillin' hard as the party winds down.

Nelson the French Bulldog! Awesome roommate. Knows how to high five and pirouette.

Here we are at the historic Holiday Inn parking lot!

Awww yeah!
